About Us

Sundberg Builders officially began business in the fall of 2000 when John and his family moved to the Spearfish area from southeastern Montana to join forces with his dad, Stan Sundberg. Since that time they have built a number of spec and custom homes as well as remodels and repair work ranging from basic home repairs, one-room renovations, kitchen and bath remodels, and whole-house makeovers and additions.

In 2006 John opted to take a "sabbatical" from building, so he and his family moved to Louisville, KY where he enrolled in the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and began the long road towards a master's degree. Perhaps "the long road" is an understatement, as it will likely take years to see that goal accomplished. In the meantime he is still reading, studying, thinking and blogging.

Returning to Spearfish in December of 2006 with a fresh perspective on life and business, John is realizing that he has a preference for remodeling work - especially those projects that offer a significant challenge.
